Semi_OT:HeJian, Artisan In IP Licensing Agreement
Online staff -- Electronic News, 12/20/2004

HeJian and Artisan have formed an IP licensing agreement that gives HeJian 0.18-micron designers access to a cadre of IP products from Artisan and calls for Artisan to distribute HeJian-based IP under its Access Library Program.

Under terms of the agreement, Artisan has licensed to HeJian advanced memory generators for single-port and dual-port SRAM, as well as Artisan’s SAGE-X Standard Cell Library and general-purpose I/O cells.

The 0.18-micron IP conforms to the Artisan design standard including its views and models in support of EDA tools.

Also as part of the agreement, Artisan will distribute HeJian-based IP under its Access Library Program on a worldwide basis at no charge to licensed design teams.

Suzhou, China-based HeJian was founded in November 2001 and completed its wafer pilot run and initial capacity ramp up in March 2003, with 200mm wafers delivered in May 2003. The company has 0.5-micron non-volatile memory, 0.35-micron to 0.18-micron logic and mixed signal, 0.35-micron to 0.25-micron high voltage and 0.35-micron flash memory, and is now in volume production for 0.25-micron and 0.18-micron products. Manufacturing capacity currently exceeds 25,000 wafers per month.

Front-end and complete views of Artisan’s memory generators, SAGE-X Standard Cell Library and general-purpose I/O cells for HeJian’s 0.18-micron process are to be available before the end of the month.
