Thanks for the suggestion. I had considered a power line set up, but for some of the devices I wish to use it wouldn't be practical. Mostly a laptop and kindle both using wi-fi in many different areas of the house, as well as several patios. I also use a Samsung Galaxy S3 that switches to wi-fi when I don't receive a good 3g signal. Sprint is in the process of installing 4gLTE in my area by August so hopefully that will solve the weak signal problem.

If I can work out a bridge to the modem then I think wi-fi with possibly an extender should solve the issue. I have a decent internet connection that I will have to re-set when bridging, so I am not in a hurry to start messing with it, but will jump in when I can catch a few spare hours.
