...how are you (and Equis) re Y2K?
I know Equis released a Y2K downloader fix for regular Metastock ... Not sure yet about my Metastock Professional. Question is more about the data formats vs your daily updates.

John -

At this time, we only support the 255 symbol per directory format. This format is not y2k compliant. The floating point format used in the data format is only good to 6 significant digits. It is impossible to get over 991231 using the 255 symbol format.

Our current MS output and export will not be y2k compliant.

I will be requesting the write libraries from Equis for their newer 2000 symbol per directory format, but they may decide that they won't license it to me.

There was some discussion on the MS list about CSI. Equis will not license their new format to CSI because they view them as a direct competitor. I don't know if they will regard us in that light or not.

Our own update process has been tested and is compliant, so QP2 will be all right. The Metastock format is the only question. We now have a much improved ASCII export and update program that will allow Metastock to update their files with our data, they just don't want to make it too convenient though.
