I'm not sure if I'm angry or sad. For the last couple of weeks I've been helping with the care, feeding and socialization of 4 kittens. Not that it was a hardship, the kittens were a joy and the empty house they were housed in was ocean front and quite spectacular. It takes a special kind of person to allow the use of their home for the love of cats and allow complete strangers entry into their home. This house was also donated for use last winter when a very sick cat was found on the road.

I live in a small community and adoption was next to impossible so today they were taken to a Vet's office in Canada where they would have a better chance of finding a home. They had to wait their turn because the Vet was already overwhelmed with kittens.

So today was my last day with these little charmers and later this week we start all over again with another litter.

I can't stress enough that people should not bring Fluffy to the cottage for the weekend and then be surprised that Fluffy is nowhere to be found when it's time to leave. Would they leave a child behind? Pets should not be so disposable.

But the bigger issue is that people don't spay and neuter. Just do it!
