My point is that I think there is a very good chance of that happening if any "public option" goes in to effect. Also (while I usually don't argue from intentions since they can't be proven and aren't as important as the actual consequences) I think that's the intention of many of its supporters (but not all, some really do believe that government is so superior in this area, that it will be better than the private sector without the need of any such subsidies or support, while others just want to try something different to see what happens.)
