That $135/TB SSD is the price for a single unit TODAY! In 5 years when there might be some serious volume for autonomous vehicles, you'll probably get that performance for that price in volume.... maybe even cheaper. BTW, they solved the high heat issue by moving the big battery for my X3 to the "trunk" where it is about the same temp as passengers. If it is really an issue for a small SSD due to high power dissipation when using, they can probably put a TE cooler on it if needed.
