I have one of these in my new laptop but Task Manager says it is mostly idle as the "main" GPU 0 seems to do fine handling most Excel, Word, streaming and stock charting tasks.
"Sales of certain high-end GPUs using Nvidia's new Turing architecture were lower than expected," the company said in its news release. "These products deliver a revolutionary leap in performance and innovation with real-time ray tracing and AI, but some customers may have delayed their purchase while waiting for lower price points and further demonstrations of RTX technology in actual games."

My guess is most of us who have them got them via a bundle at Costco as I sure don't play enough games to have built the PC with it... but it is nice to know there is power there if needed I suppose.

It IS pretty amazing how thin the laptop is with the Max-q Turning design.

But it may be similar to Apple's problem where fewer people are willing to pay for top performance when what you get with the last generation is still very good.

Here is task manager with 3 monitors and one of them streaming three live web cams (related to windsurfing...) It hardly strains GPU 0.... I should try it streaming a 4K video with Amazon Prime on the 4K laptop monitor to see if loads it up at all...
