from what i gather (following others gold cycle analysis) we are in the time frame for several gold cycles bottoming (i.e. longer as well as shorter term cycles are supposed to trough right about now).

technically it is interesting that gold has stooped declining in the area of the '78 top (250-260) so far...i doubt that there is much downside left, since the average replacement value per oz. of reserves globally is around $350, i.e. at current prices very little exploration takes place, and the rate of mine closures probably already exceeds new projects coming on-line. production will likely begin to decline in coming years even if the PoG rallies.
