Thanks for the clarification. Sorry I latched onto your post in order to rant. I was reacting on behalf of friends and family who have gone through some economic struggles due to various downsizing at their (former) companies over the last couple of years, but have done so with dignity and grace. And at least some of them have become convinced that the changes, while hard on them, are actually for the good of America. They're helped a bit in that attitude because they really don't like Kerry, sensing that his sympathy is artificial, and, where there is any true feeling, it is really a condescending pity rather than any real empathy.
