I think we are dancing around the definition of "creationism". One can believe in God and God's creating the universe and still believe in evolution. In fact one could argue it's hard not to believe that. But if you believe in creationism to the point of believing it contradicts evolution - which I think is what most who claim themselves to be "creationist" do believe - them you are dismissing science and have no place in politics.

I throw global warming in to the same category. You can argue what portion of GW is caused by man, but to argue that man has no cause on GW has pretty much been dismissed by all thinking scientist. Palin believes man has no effect on the warming patterns we are seeing - one more example of a person's faith overriding their thinking.
