The fact that the Democrats have turned down Republican offers of additional funding for the census indicates they would rather cook the census using sampling.

CLINTON: 'MONICA IS DANGEROUS'

Fri Aug 07 1998 12:55:25 ET -- "The woman is dangerous. She hallucinates. She fantasizes. I
don't know if she even knows what the truth is anymore!"

That's the story President Clinton is telling his closest advisers, according to next week's
NATIONAL ENQUIRER [8/18/98]. A prerelease was obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

The trashing of Monica Lewinsky shifts to full force, just hours after her testimony against
President Clinton in front of a Washington grand jury.

"She stalked me through the White House," Clinton is quoted as saying in the tabloid.

"She seemed troubled but harmless. Monica was wide-eyed and young and I knew she got a thrill
out of talking to me."

The tabloid quotes one source: "When adviser [Harold] Ickes first tried to tell Clinton that
Monica was spreading stories that could be harmful to him, he refused to listen."

"Ickes and others believed that Monica was a liar, a virtual psychopath who had created an
entire fantasy world involving the President, a woman who now wanted to destroy him."

David Kendall, the Clintons' personal lawyer, also works for the ENQUIRER.

NATIONAL ENQUIRER Editor Steve Cos has stated that Kendall was not involved in earlier Clinton
scandal stories. "There is zero crossover," he has said.

Next week's ENQUIRER features such headlines: "CLINTON: SHE'S DANGEROUS" -- "MONICA'S STORY: I
JUST WANTED BILL TO LOVE ME" -- "INSIDER HER BIZARRE WORLD" -- "STRANGE SICK WORLD OF MONICA
LEWINSKY" -- "MONICA'S ABORTION SHOCKER" -- "BIZARRE FANTASY LIFE CAUGHT UP WITH HER" -- "HOW I
SEDUCED THE PRESIDENT."

REPORT: BILL RICHARDSON CAUGHT IN LEWINSKY LIE!

**Exclusive**

Thu Aug 06 1998 20:42:07 ET -- The WASHINGTON TIMES is set to release a blockbuster report that
is bound to turn official Washington upside down and inside out.

U.N. Ambassador Bill Richardson, contrary to what he told Congress last month in sworn
testimony, did not have a job opening on his staff when he offered to hire Monica Lewinsky in
October, according to sources and documents obtained by the WASHINGTON TIMES.

Reporter Bill Sammon breaks hard with the exclusive, set to appear in Friday editions.

Richardson, who was recently confirmed as President Clinton's new Energy Secretary, "panicked
when the scandal broke in January and scrambled to find a slot he could claim had existed long
before he interviewed Lewinsky."

Sammon reveals: "Despite Mr. Richardson's repeated sworn assertions, he did not create the
position until after Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr served him with a subpoena demanding all
documents related to the job offer."

Starr is trying to determine whether the offer was aimed at distancing Lewinsky and keeping her
quiet about her relationship with Clinton.

The TIMES quotes sources at the United Nations, State Department and Capitol Hill in the
exhaustive report.

NEW YORK TIMES: LEWINSKY TOLD GRAND JURY THAT CLINTON NEVER ASKED HER TO LIE

Monica Lewinsky told a grand jury on Thursday that she had several sexual encounters with
President Clinton "in his small, private study down a short hallway from the Oval Office,
Friday's NEW YORK TIMES is set to report.

A prerelease of the report was obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT Thursday evening.

Lewinsky also testified, according to the TIMES, that she and the president "had talked about
ways to conceal their relationship... [but] he never directly told her to lie under oath in the
Paula Jones case."

Lewinsky was asked a series of questions about the dirty dress Thursday and prosecutors have
left open the possibility of recalling her before the grand jury, perhaps after the president
testifies, says the paper.

DRUM ROLL...

Does ABC NEWS know something we don't?

"Tests on a navy blue dress Monica Lewinsky supposedly kept as a semen-stained souvenir have
proved negative," ABCNEWS.COM website reported -- LAST JAN 30.

Oddly, the stunning report could still be found archived on the network's news website this
week!

Clever web cruisers circulated the web address that featured the old dress story -- causing
maximum Internet confusion.

abcnews.com still showed the "no DNA story" late
Thursday night.

The report filed by Tristanne L. Walliser revealed:

"The dress, seized along with other clothing and personal affects by the FBI, was tested at the
request of Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr. Lewinsky claimed, in what she thought were
private conversations taped by her friend Linda Tripp, that she had deliberately preserved a
dress with the president's semen on it. However, sources tell ABC NEWS that the dress had been
dry cleaned before it was seized, and the testing found no physical evidence."

"More Americans Get Their News From ABC NEWS Than From Any Other Source" -- or something like
that.

Round #2 of the dress DNA guessing game continued late week -- with still no credible
information available. Geraldo's urgent announcement, of course, not withstanding. Drum roll,
please...
