Thanks Ed,

I did that earlier this week. I told her that this would help me set us up when I graduate. She kind of expects the ROCK next November so we can finally get married the following summer after I graduate.

This sounds good to me, but I am trying to make a good chunk of change on this one so that I have money left after buying the rock. I don't want to go buy a 5000 rock with only 10000 in the acct. SPEND 1/2 of my MONEY, OUCH!!!!!!!! I would like to have a nice chunk left after graduation so that I could put a nice down payment on a house. (She currently is living in Houston with her folks so she can save $$$$$$. So far, $10,000 in an acct for a house.

Wouldn't it be nice to slap down $40,000 or $50,000 for a house with no other liabilities at all? That would be the life. Interest payments would be nil since a 30 year mortgage would be somewhat stupid unless rates were really low and I could invest the extra $$$$ @ 50% in the market. Then, pay the house off in 5-10 years. That would be awesome!
