As I understand it, it is just a TRIAL (offered for several Mega-sized corporations who have major international operations) designed to see if it saves them significant amounts of money in compliance costs without creating any qualitative declines in the usefulness of the data that is available to investors. Understand they will review the trial in about a year and decide whether to make the option available to all corps. (International accounting standards have seen major upgrades in recent years (& convergence with US accounting rules)... so much so that accountants argue now as to which set or rules - US or International - is 'best'.)
