Yet, you guys consistently assert that big government is a good thing. The legendary inefficiency of the military (arguably, among the best-executed of federal programs), the one that originated such terms as FUBAR and SNAFU, ought to tell us all something about having government more involved in managing our health care, delivering our mail, running Social Security, and numerous other tasks that are better left in private hands.

I keep looking for one that works, and as it turns out, none really do. Oh, yeah, except for smart weapons, which you pointed out -- even thought the cost has been totally insane in getting there.
