All I know is that it is a proven method to reduce cost and get decent results.

But it isn't. Costs are higher in the countries that have it now than they where before they had it.

Sure a million other things have changed, I wouldn't try to claim that it was a proven method to increase costs, it isn't; but the same "million difference" point applies to comparisons between systems that have single payer and those that don't. There is nothing proven here.
