Re: Cost of coupons. I've never seen any data on cost, nor how it was administered. But it has been typical for the previous administration to contract out jobs like that to private sector companies. Usually those jobs are done on a cost plus contract, but whether it was done on bidding or a no-bid process is anybody's guess. I doubt that an agency like the FCC would have administered the program itself. Given the current economic mess, I think it might have been preferable to offer either a coupon for a rebate on a converter or a coupon for a rebate on a digital TV. I also understand that the converter box contains a Broadcom chip. Anyone here believe in conspiracy theories? Art
