i agree with your concerns regarding industrial metals. the question is really whether the expected reduction in demand will outpace the concurrent reduction in supply. the PGMs are a special case, as they are unfortunately going to see supply increase sharply over the next few years, as the big SA producers are all expanding furiously.

it's different in e.g. copper....supplies continue to be rather tight. same goes for silver, the structural supply/demand imbalance wouldn't be dented much if demand were to say fall by 10% (which is a lot - annual demand is close to 900m. oz.).
