Seems we are forgetting the original Bush junior response to 'why war?' Remember? "He (Saddam) tried to kill my dad" It may be as simple as this. On the other hand, it may have been intended to bring Al qaeda out of hiding and into a stand-up fight - so they could be exterminated. Whichever might be the true reason, I am certain that intelligence data were toasted, ignored, twisted and falsified to allow the war.
