UW, I never understand that idea that voting is somehow a great thing to do. The absurdity of the idea is taken to compulsory levels in some countries.

I really don't understand the reasoning.

The laws of large numbers mean that for most people, the rational thing to do is to not vote. But even in the swing states, where a single vote could tip it, what if a person is simply indifferent or has no opinion? Why vote? It wastes their time, increases costs and achieves nothing. Worse, it encourages politicians who already think they are overly-important.

Some people with no idea would just vote a hair-style. Do you really want a popular hairstyle to run the country?
