Seems to me you are in the land of the "Maybe".

No, I think it's as close to a sure thing as you can get that Obama and Congress will enact significant entitlement programs. There's all this pent up energy. It's been a long time since the Democrats were in a position to do so. As for Clinton, he would have created a whopper had Hillary not overstepped and offended so much. Obama's spending list is long and there are lots of struggling people out there, particularly on cable news, looking to have their lifestyles subsidized.

Do you really not think we're going to get subsidized healthcare? And probably college education? And at least some of the rest of Obama's laundry list?

Trying to cloak your maybe in talk about short term comfort vs "patriotism" is just obfuscation.

I was trying to be open and honest about my personal dilemma. Funny that it would look like a cloak. The talk about Palin reintroducing the culture wars clarified it for me. I can make the emotional decision, as so many Palin supporters and detractors are, to opt for their cultural comfort zone or I can be the responsible analyst and look for what I think is best for the country. That choice determines my side of the fence.
