Richard,
The true value of Naxos may not be Franklin Lakes. It may turn out to be the Johnson-Lett Process. If J-L proves out on Franklin Lakes, it can than be tested on other dirts, clays, etc. So even if as you say

eventually proved, the interest of majors and environmentalists will prohibit mining of
the playa in our lifetime. I speculate that Californian's won't let a foreign company
"rape" the mineral wealth of their state."

Naxos may turn out to be incredibly profitable by forming partnerships elsewhere and using the J-L process.
