Q likely has a broad cross license with Nortel for the development of CDMA and WCDMA chips. The OFDM standards are more problematic but it will be a few years before we see single mode devices. I would assume that those licenses would remain in place even after a transfer of control.

Unless I have a drastic misunderstanding of how Q's licenses work, I dont think that it is worth going after Nortel's IP.
