It's not much different, really, that the training that football (or hockey) players go through. If you've ever been close to a field, you would find that football is a pretty violent game, not the ballet it appears on TV. The only difference is that soldiers have bayonets to use on the dummies. Football players use their bodies.

Football players don't go off tackling and blocking civilians on the street, and soldiers don't go off bayoneting women and children.

The training soldiers undergo is necessary for their survival, but they are also trained when and when not to use deadly force.

By the way, have you ever seen how soldiers are indoctrinated and trained to kill? To toughen all men (and those who are squeamish about killing others), trainees are typically ordered during drills to charge and ram their bayonets into dummies while yelling as bloodthirstily as they could, "KILL! KILL! KILL!" and yelling other unprintable swear and curse words!
