I assume it's a blood test, but is there a name for it?

The test for your Vitamin D blood level is called the "25OH D-3 test/or 25-D Hydroxy" You want to be at 50 or 60. A lot of people are much lower. Heart and cancer problems have been linked to low levels of D. I was at 80 on my last test.

A lot of Doctors are not familiar with, or poo-poo the value of this test. Pay no attention to them. Mine tried to get by with telling me, "you are in normal range." Hell, "normal range" is 20 to 150!

Vitamin D in most multivitamins is not absorbed and/or is the poorly or non-absorbed D2 (or not converted to D3), so I don't even factor it into total vitamin D intake.
