Dick, Jay, Thanks for participating in this rejuvenated thread. I have only done straddles on INTC, CCI, CSCO, COMS and I have only done those recently after loooking into the fact that if the stock is volatile enough then there is a possibility of making money regardless of where the stock goes. I would imagine that we could do the same thing with OEX puts and calls.

Dick, could you share with us what OEX puts and calls you particiapted in and where was OEX when you bought them.

Most people participate in straddles before earning announcements, unfortunately, during that period the premium get a little pricey.

Since a lot of volatility is expected this year, I would imagine that OEX straddles are appropriate. I am still a novice at this but call it beginners luck but I am slightly ahead in the game currently (but that can change very easily).
