'Bin Laden's voice' on Arab TV

The Arabic TV channel al-Jazeera has broadcast footage in which it says Osama Bin Laden can be heard talking about the hijackers involved in the 11 September attacks on the US last year.

Voice on videotape
Bin Laden, who has been blamed by the US for the attacks on New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon outside Washington, was not seen in the video.
Correspondents say it is impossible to independently verify that the voice does belong to Osama Bin Laden, although they think it sounds very similar to previous tapes of the al-Qaeda leader.
It is not clear when the tape was made, but the Qatar-based al-Jazeera said it had been recorded in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan.
The voice heard on the tape praises the hijackers.
"As we talk about the conquests of Washington and New York we talk about those men who changed the course of history and cleaned the records of the nation from the dirt of the treasonous rulers and their followers," it said, as the tape showed head shots of the hijackers.
'We can topple you'
The voice named four of the hijackers it described as the ringleaders - Mohammed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi, Hani Hanjour and Ziad Jarrah - and prayed for their souls.
The TV showed young men studying maps
The TV showed other clips of young men it said were the hijackers undergoing training in Afghanistan - they appeared to be studying maps and aircraft manuals.
And it carried what was described as the will of one of the hijackers, Abdul Aziz al-Omari.
"This is a message to America to make it leave... and stop supporting Israel," Omari said. "Learn that we can topple you along with the other big enemies."
Al-Qaeda interview
Al-Jazeera says it will air the tapes in full on Thursday.
It also promised to show an interview with Bin Laden's aides in which they describe in detail how they planned the 11 September attacks.
The journalist who conducted the interview said on Sunday that al-Qaeda had originally planned to fly the hijacked jets into nuclear installations but decided against this because of fears it could "get out of control".
Documentary-maker Yosri Fouda said he was taken to a hide-out in Pakistan where he met Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Ramzi Binalshibh, who are both on the FBI's most wanted list.
They told him that Bin Laden was alive and well but did not provide any proof.
