Should he have jumped up and stormed out of the room? Freaked out? Panicked? What should he have done?He has commented with clarity on the issue: He didn't want to react with panic before this group of children, and made the decision to allow the planned lesson to be finished, meanwhile making decisions about how he was going to proceed.I believe he was being thoughful and reflective in the face of difficult circumstances not faced by any other president in the nation's history. God knows, I wish we had someone like him in charge today, rather than the aloof nitwit now running the show.
That's total bull shit.......he was informed the nation was under attack, a more serious situation than the Cuban missile crisis. His staffer came and whispered in his ear...... Under far less serious conditions, he would have said, "excuse me children, I've got a message that requires my attention and I must leave you for a moment or so..... no panic would have occurred as he had no doubt lived through things like that many times... A real leader would have followed his staffer out of the room to find out what details they had and what they were doing about it.............ie he would have taken charge even if by delegation...

I can't imagine any president sitting there like a lump as he did..........he was totally helpless.....Didn't want to panic the children, my ass. Who was running the show outside the classroom?????
