If you want to know what is happening to Intel ASPs just look at the PriceWatch for Xeons 450 with 2MB cache. Five distributors are selling it. The highest price is $3,880 and the lowest is $1,049. You can see a similar story for 500MHz.

The low volume Vapormine Xeons which are selling for barely over $800 are killing the golden goose.

Intel is brain-dead.
