TAKING STOCK

PICKS: MYL, EDS & MAN

PRIOR PICKS: ABS +6.15%, CTL +16.63% & VSH -30.62%

VSH rotten start but we think with a 6 to 12month horizon business
is great and the stock moves higher.

CPQ wild ride. Shoot first and ask questions later. Salomon Smith
Barney downgrades. Looks like they will meet numbers after all but
even if they don't the stock is priced cheaply at 23 to 25. Great
buying opportunity.

PHONES:

UIS warned. History shows that the stock will drop sharply and
then drift lower over time. Would get in at about 20% lower than the
present price. Good company and will get its act together. Take out
rumors which caused the price to rise recently may resurface.

MOT he likes and owns. Great buy. Businesses starting to click.
Last piece is cellular phones which should be OK by 4Q. In the
meantime they are at a 40 to 50% discount to the group.

With EGRP the question is business viability and competition. Off
sharply but still richly valued. He would avoid.

HD is a great company. Sold off of late. High growth company. Be a
buyer.

AOL great service. Future good. Penalized for TWX merger for 12
to 18 months then average returns.
