Logos - The DEC team did try to shop Alpha to Apple in 1992 and again in 1993 but no sale. Alpha has been hampered by DEC's weak marketing and lack of a volume business but that should change under CPQ. The biggest issue was always application base. Ironically enough the Intel Merced hype may finally get developers to do what DEC could never accomplish - stimulate interest in 64 bit apps.
