Actually he also says that he looks for businesses where he can be reasonably certain as to the 10 year outlook. I think you'd agree you don't have 10 year visibility in high tech.

He's doing pretty well, although not as well as someone who picked right 2 years ago. He's doing better than the many people who picked wrong, and possibly better than the people who currently think they picked right, but will discover that they picked wrong at some point in the next 5 years (if you see what I mean).
