Structured Modeling For The Millennium

Cayenne Software's TeamWork Tool For Structured Modeling Now Available on Windows NT & Internet-Based Platforms

BEDFORD, Mass., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Successful since its 1984 introduction, now in its Version 7 release, the TeamWork product suite offered by Cayenne Software (Nasdaq: CAYN - news) continues as the most often selected and widely used UNIX-based modeling tool for structured analysis and design. Today Cayenne announced two new members to the TeamWork family that demonstrate its commitment to a vast installed base of Fortune 1000 customers who have committed to the Company's TeamWork product, yet who are also now investing heavily in increasingly popular platforms such as Windows NT, and cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet.

TeamWork for Windows NT:

Since TeamWork for Windows NT became available in early-December 1997, Cayenne has witnessed strong customer demand for the entry of its high performance multi-user structured modeling tool, TeamWork NT. Forty-percent of Cayenne's structured modeling tool sales since December have been TeamWork NT and, of this number, more than half have been to existing users of the UNIX implementation - supporting the fact that NT is becoming widely deployed in high end, sophisticated development organizations. During the last three months new TeamWork NT installations include projects at Eastman Kodak, EDS, Lockheed Martin, TRW Corp., and Hamilton Standard.

''With this formal introduction of TeamWork for NT, we are keeping pace with the market's strong demand for products that fully support the Microsoft operating system,'' said Michael Jannery, Cayenne's senior director of marketing. ''For some industries and companies, taking a structured approach to system modeling has not only been effective, but also represents a large, long-term investment in software and training. Cayenne's larger TeamWork customers have indicated a commitment to structured methods - and to TeamWork - that extends for 5 years or more. With TeamWork for NT, our customers can take full advantage of NT's popularity and cost benefits, without re- evaluating - or replacing - their established development methodologies and processes.''

Jannery noted that the new TeamWork for Windows NT product takes advantage of popular NT features such as Windows' familiar User Interface standards, NT services and the NT registry. The product is also available for the Windows 95 platform.

Robert DeRoy, Senior Avionics Engineer at Kaman Aerospace Corp., lauded the new product's easy migration from UNIX to Windows NT. ''It was an extremely smooth transition from the TeamWork UNIX to the TeamWork NT platform - the user interface enhancements were very effective. We found it really easy to get things up and running.''

NetTeamWork:

The new, Internet-enabled version of TeamWork, called NetTeamWork, allows software teams to view their systems models using either Microsoft or Netscape browsers, over the Internet or corporate intranets.

''Cayenne is committed to meeting our customers' demand for Web-based products to provide anytime, anywhere access to their structured models,'' Jannery said. ''Using NetTeamWork, engineers can view structured models via Internet technology whether they are at their desks, on the factory floor, in the field, or in another country - significantly enhancing their ability to effectively and efficiently communicate design data.''
