"if it hits 110 degrees in a year, that's a pretty good indication the year was hot." Not if all the other summer days were 80 degrees, and the winter averaged 5 below. "I know you can pretend it was only hot one day in the year and the rest of the year was chilly" I know I can't pretend I see it on this graph.
