Canada's culture was/is that of a nation of inventors and doers, people who were and are willing to make sure the poor and the weak don't suffer and that every citizen has an equal chance. Canada's culture was and is one that accepts peoples differences sometimes to easily, giving refuge to all kinds of people from many countries. Sometimes people think there is no culture in canada, but there is a culture of rights and equalities, freedoms and prosperity.
For many generations Canadians have not thought about the Canadian Culture, they were to busy building a country, embracing new ideas, and creating a safe and secure place for their children and grandchildren.
And then eager to offer opportunities to others, Canadians welcome other people to their country. These people fleeing their old countries, claiming persecution and disadvantage, decided they would rather cling to the customs of the countries they claimed mistreated them, and the idea to celebrate those cultures came to pass. Those people claiming discrimination sneered at what others had built and so freely offered them. But they don't have the guts to go home and make their former countries into something as great as Canada. The shame of these people is that they cling to the culture of their old countries, they often send money to fuel the wars and the terrorism in their old countries, but they don't have the brains or the guts to go home and help.
Canada has a culture of peace stability and democracy, it is too bad so many people from countries they claimed abused them don't see it. |
