Well you will have to tell me which is slower. I find sun systems in general are always doggy and my limited experience with kde showed it to be 5 to 8 times slower than fvwm. I still remember the first time that I did a startx with kde as the window manager and I thought my system was hung. This perception was based on my expectation from past use of fvwm. I quickly ditched the kde.
