ArcTel orders wireless broadband access technology from Siemens Walkair Broadband Wireless Access system to be provided by Floware Wireless Systems Siemens Information and Communication Networks has been commissioned by ArcTel GmbH & Co. KG, Frankfurt, to plan, set up, and deliver wireless broadband access technology. Siemens will supply the Walkair Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system of its partner Floware Wireless Systems Ltd., Israel. ArcTel is a joint venture of Mannesmann Arcor, Frankfurt, and Teligent, a global leader in broadband communications headquartered in North America. In Germany, ArcTel can use radio frequency allocations of the parent companies that cover roughly 35 % of the German small and medium sized enterprise community. Installing the Walkair Broadband Wireless Access system from Floware will enable Arctel to offer a broad range of access services including ISDN and Internet services, alongside Frame Relay and IP services
As part of the turnkey agreement, Siemens will act as a consultant and will be responsible for system planning, installation and maintenance. The first base stations for wireless broadband access will be delivered by October.
