John, I don't see it as a 'New Age' terminology, I see it as an 'Old Age' terminology. To me, Christ lived and died to show us a process of quickening the spirit by which we can better ourselves. Many of the prophets of other religions are simply those who understood what Jesus was showing us. Their existence did not threaten Jesus in any way, because they simply followed the footsteps of Jesus down the same path, perhaps expressing it in different words and symbols. Jesus is the first. His purpose was to show us the way. Why should we think badly of his students and fellow graduates simply because they were not first, and are spread throughout the lands and languages? If anyone is truly reborn unto God, thanks to Jesus, or through direct revelation, are they not ascended unto him whilst still on Earth? If Jesus died to teach us how to be like him, why should we be surprised if there are/were some who are? Just my opinion.

Peace,
Darrin
