I'm assuming you meant substituting 'belief' for 'delusion.' Aw shoot, I messed up. Yes, that's what I meant. It is possible to have a deep faith and not have it involve an all-knowing smarty-pants Daddy-God. That stuff pisses me off, personally, though I know that many contemporary Christians structure their faith in this manner. When inexplicably bad things have happened in my life (and I've had a few of these), my belief in a general sense of justice over time releases me from feeling as though I must exact justice. A belief that my own own understanding of things may be incomplete releases me from action at times when it's best to just "sit with it".
