The Plot Sickens Roger L. Simon I could brag that, as a mystery writer, my initial reactions to the "liberation" of Giuliana Sgrena are true, but I am not sure. Still, now we have the kidnappers themselves saying they refused all ransom. Do we believe them? Meanwhile, the Washington Times asserts "Italy did not plan safe escape for hostage." Is that true or just a cliché about Italians resurfacing? Of course their foreign minister has his own view.
