"since WWII, if not before"

What liberals really think of WWII and the defense department:

That's how I see it too. I also see our soldiers, who haven't fought a war to 'defend America' since WWII, if not before, as the ultimate welfare queens. Most especially, the officers and especially the pentagon officers.

There the idea is trotted out that even WWII, the war that liberals usually pretend to think was worthwhile, wasn't.

I know it's frustrating- but you can look at it this way- a lot of that money is probably going to low level pukes who, if the bases closed, would then be on welfare- so try to see it as a welfare program. That's how I think of defense.

And that's the liberal view of soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen ..... low level pukes who would be on welfare if the military wasn't there for them. So the entire defense dept is a welfare program. Oh, btw, this shows that even liberals think welfare recipients are low level pukes.

Sure, The whole 'MILITARY INDUSTIRAL (and government) COMPLEX' Eisenhower warned us about as he was on his way out. A lot of those executives are 'retired' military officers.

How ironic to quote Eisenhower, himself one of those "welfare recipients" who fought a probably unnecessary war, against the military in toto.
