Carey, fom a 1996 issue of P.C. Magazine! Oracle is working with Identix of Sunnyvale, California, to incorporate support for Identix's fingerprint ID hardware and software into the Oracle 7 database. Identix's devices work much like Harris' and prices are in the $200 to $500 range. Identix's CEO, Randy Fowler, who was formerly one of TRW's chief technologists, says that in the next 24 months the devices will start showing up in several Intranet environments that use Oracle databases, including banks and HMOs. According to Oracle's Pierre Baudin, "Anyone who wants to hook Identix's boxes into an Oracle 7 database will be able to do so inexpensively."
