I wonder if my company is a sign of the times. In order to keep the stock price up the company is going after overhead expenditures. After years of binging at the computer pig trough it is now going to cut back severely on these expenditures and cut the IS department by 25%.
Actually, we're hearing rumors of across-the-board layoffs of 25%.
I noticed GM is going to cut their employment by 50,000. Kodak seems to have started a trend.
This will certainly help keep wage inflation down. :-(
PS We are getting a new shipment of computers in. New Macs to replace aging ones. Not a Dell in our 5-story building.
