I just bought my first HD larger than 2TB.

amazon.co.uk

I was a bit confused for a while, couldn't partition the last TB.
but then I found this. GPT.

msdn.microsoft.com

If you are using Win 7 or above all is OK, though XP 64 bit works too. Some caveats if want to use it for booting, in that case you have to use 64bit.

Q. Can Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008 read, write, and boot from GPT disks?
A. Yes, all versions can use GPT partitioned disks for data. Booting is only supported for 64-bit editions on UEFI-based systems.

Using the Win 7 disk manager, right clicking on the drive space and selecting GUID partition table and it is just like normal from there out. I now have two 1.36TB partitions to store stuff on.
