Most probably the army will get Sharif to "agree" to resign. And they will get a more pliable politician in his place to head a new "civilian" government. That should take care of the concerns of the West.

As for withdrawal of loans and foreign aid to Pakistan -- thanks to India's misadventures of last year, Pakistan too has nuclear technology now and can always raise the possibility of them selling the technology to other nations in the Middle East. That should keep the loans and foreign aid from drying up!
