My devilishly perfect scenario has us sawing gradually higher for another couple of months, so that we get 14-16 months into the four-year cycle. We poke our heads above Naz2K just to get everybody lathered and convinced it's a "real" bull, wash out the last few bears, then tag the 1998 high sitting at COMP2028. Maybe even throw in a little "January effect" advance buying in December. Interest rates follow higher in their wave C, and the e-con-o-me goes into the crapper Q1, taking Shrub with it. That said, I see a resistance line coming up, and I've got my very first short sale sitting at it. What in the hell am I thinking... Perhaps that this run is getting long in the tooth, and that I have now seen evidence of some solid selling (end of September) showing that there are indeed motivated sellers out there. Still can't prove there's a downtrend anywhere, though, because there isn't. Hmmmmm... Don't wanna be tooearly... BC
