RESEARCH ALERT - Baby Bell price targets raised

NEW YORK, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers said Tuesday telecommunications analyst Blake Bath raised his price targets on the regional Bell operating companies (RBOCs), citing accelerating revenue growth and higher overall stock market levels.

-- said sets the following new price targets for the regional Bells: Ameritech Corp. - $70 a share; Bell Atlantic Corp. - $65 a share; BellSouth Corp. - $93 a share, GTE Corp. - $79 a share; SBC Communications - $53 a share and U S West Inc. - $74 a share. The previous price targets were not immediately available.

-- said believes market is in early stages of appreciating the dramatic change in revenue composition of the Baby Bells as they shift away from slower-growth domestic voice telecom operations towards growth markets like data, wireless and international.

-- said six years ago data, wireless and international accounted for less than 15 percent of revenue for each of the regional Bells. These areas now represent about a quarter of the Baby Bells revenues and most of their growth.
