(((If Ericsson/Nokia can convince them the benefits of a W-CDMA system are greater than CDMA2000 (increased roaming, handset selection) then their is a chance that W-CDMA will be selected. The wild card in this is NTT Docomo....they were talking about taking a stake in SK Telecom, but I dont believe that has happened yet.))) There is still the time to market issue. Will SK put the new spectrum on hold, waiting an indefinate period for wCDMA to develop? With 1x, won't the genie be out of the bottle? This will be true for DoCoMo as well, as I see their only hope in growing their flavor of wCDMA is to stop the Korean and DDI 1x rollouts. With 1x functioning, their I-Mode will be in peril. regards, blg
