Robert welcome aboard but this response is for Peter:
<"Awful movement in the stock the last two days. I find no news to speak of. If there is any, could someone enlighten us. I think a big player (fund) may have decided to lose some shares. This broke the
chart down and the lemmings chased it off the cliff."<

Good question and I happended to talk to my broker today about account and other holdings, actually we (he and I) were very close to selling a tech stock to buy some GENE with current downtrend, but was waiting for a little more movement up with the tech stock based on WSJ article that was out today. Well he thinks (not known for sure) that Meryll (sp) Lynch may have been selling some shares lately. He does not know if this is true or not nor why they might be selling. Somebody here has an account with ML and do you know if this is true or can you call and find out from your ML broker. If ML is selling some shares he does not know why, nor has his firm had any reason to think GENE is going to be a dog (consequently why we are thinking about selling one stock for profits and getting more GENE).

Don't take my word for it, for investment advice though (my disclaimer).

Maybe we should address some questions confirmed by several sources:
1) Is or has ML been selling shares of GENE?
2) If so for what reason?
3) GENE finally got some big institutional support this year are any of them selling at a loss? and if so why?
4) Is ML selling because GENE didn't quite make the price appreciation as was expected by say 10/1/96 by some analyst?
5) What are the good reasons to stay with GENE?

I think we can address some of the above questions with facts and theories to help ourselves with some investment or informational decisions.

Thanks Tara
