Craig, mostly I'm a figment of my own imagination.

But I am a palpable terror on the freeway, especially near Highway 101 and the Guadalupe parkway near where Novell has its empty lot. Believe it or not, I am involved in technology. But true to full disclosure, I must confess that I am always on the wrong side of the battle. I supported Argentina in the Falkland (Malvinas) war. I always root for the Native Americans in the cowboy westerns (it's a heritage thing). I support Spanish hegemony over Gibraltar. I want an independent Quebec. And I want Princess Di to be Queen.

I want Oracle to buy Novell, and I want SGI to take over Apple. I want Microsoft to go away and NetWare to shame Windows NT into submission, and I want Netscape to own the net.

So I started this thread in the hopes that insightful people, like yourself, would provide valuable contributions, which they have, on Novell. The other threads are optimistically positive about Novell (review the glowing ones before the loss was announced), and since I like a balanced perspective, I had hoped to stir up some muck here.

But most of the muck on Novell has been raked. It has been therapeutic, but too much is mostly counter productive. A good point Joe Antol raised a while back in a response to my ravings.

So I suspect that this thread, like the formerly great companies of Novell and Apple, too, will die slowly.

The optimistic investors need go no farther than the other threads. But, again, Novell is not an investment for the faint of heart. If it weren't for Novell's stock buyback, who would be buying and at what price?
