Larry was specifically asked about the bandwidth issue at the Oracle8i launch. The questioner wanted to know how the internet computing paradigm would work in Europe where reliable high-speed internet access is not as prevalent as it is in the US. Larry replied that all that was needed was a simple 56K telephone connection and that you can readily get that. He said that business can purchase even more bandwidth and that there are lots of corporations with fast, reliable global networks that include Europe. He also talked about the level of internet use being higher in Sweden (I think) than in the US.

If you are just moving UI information (screen data, keystrokes and mouse clicks), the need for bandwidth is not too great.
